Sessions run from 1:15pm to 4:15pm.

Course Description

During this course, I will take you through several different techniques of monoprinting. My approach is playful and experimental and the course is suitable for those who have worked with me before and those who are new to monoprinting.

Students will be introduced to the process of layering and using colour and shapes. Drawing will be a theme throughout the course. I will also introduce the work of other artists and some of my own work to show the range of styles that can be achieved with this wonderful and fluid process. Natural plant forms will be used as a starting point.

Material List

Students should bring:

  • Clothes they can get messy in.

  • A sketchpad with basic drawings that you would like to work with.

  • Pen and pad for taking notes if desired.

I will provide inks, rollers, inking boards and paper. I will provide an unlimited supply of newsprint to experiment with and also 4 sheets per student of high quality printing paper. If students need more of this, it is available at a low cost.
