Exploring Monoprinting Workshop at Gloucestershire Printmaking Cooperative

  • Gloucestershire Printmaking Cooperative Unit 16c, Griffin Mill Stroud, England, GL5 2AZ United Kingdom (map)

In this workshop, participants will be exploring and playing with monoprinting, a wonderful and expressive process. This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with more experience.

I will introduce the process of monoprinting by showing examples of my work and that of other artists. We will look at the use of shapes, tones and colour, focusing on natural forms.

This will be followed by demonstrations in a few simple techniques which everyone can play with.

By the end of the day, the participants will have a range of skills and a basic knowledge of monoprinting that they can then practice at home. No printing press is needed.

Printing paper and all materials will be provided but if students wish to buy specialist paper to experiment with, there is a wide range available at Pegasus Art Shop, next door.

Please bring clothes you can get messy in or an apron, and a sketchpad for taking notes.

Bring a pack lunch or Stroud is nearby and full of cafes; there is Waitrose too.

The cost is £90.
